Scheherazade Velvet Vest

The little black Scheherazade vest got its name from looking like it has 1001 great nights out in its future.  Dreamed up after finding a finite amount of an eyelet embroidered silk velvet, the vest fits close to the body and has strategic paneling for coverage thanks to the pairing of the more sheer eyelet areas with a stretch velvet combo.  The neckline is trimmed with our crochet lace that, in this case, ends up becoming the looping to hold the 9 center front antique brass Mayle buttons. At the vest's back, the waist can be tightened or loosened with ties that are finished with glass beads.  The front placket is fully functional so while we love it most as a stand alone top, the Scheherazade can be worn open over a camisole or blouse to different effect.
